Children’s Aid Foundation of Canada is our country’s leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and youth and families involved in the child welfare system. We raise and grant funds and develop high-impact programs that are delivered in partnership with 99 child- and youth-serving agencies across the country.
With the support of our donors and partners, we help children and youth involved with the child welfare system access the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Your fundraising efforts will support programs and resources for children and youth involved with the child welfare system, helping them gain strength and resilience to go from surviving to thriving! Donations made until December 31, 2025 will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar by our generous donor the Dottori-Attanasio Family, up to $100,000.
The Moment I Knew campaign
Many people recall a pivotal moment in time when a chance encounter or a seemingly random choice determined their life’s path. For the 60,000 children and youth across Canada who are currently in child welfare as a result of abuse, neglect, or abandonment, those moments are especially impactful. This holiday season, Children's Aid Foundation of Canada is asking Canadians for their help through ‘The Moment I Knew’ campaign which is raising funds to support youth who often carry heavy burdens related to trauma, instability, stigma, poverty and pressure to grow up too soon.
The campaign focuses on four key impact areas: helping children build and maintain stable, nurturing relationships; providing crucial counselling, peer support and wellness resources for youth in and from care struggling with their mental health; education through scholarships, tutoring and mentoring programs to empower youth to pursue and achieve their educational goals; and employment-focused initiatives that provide job training, career counselling and financial assistance to help youth build stable futures.
