Garbage Bag Challenge

Students at the University of Toronto School are taking the Garbage Bag Challenge and raise critical funds for kids!

59,000 children and youth across Canada are living in foster care right now.

When kids who’ve experienced abuse and neglect enter the care of the child welfare system, it can be a very traumatic and disorienting time, but it is never their fault. Often they are removed from their home quickly with no time to plan, and nothing more than the clothes on their back and a few items stuffed into a garbage bag.

TAKE THE GARBAGE BAG CHALLENGE

1. Ditch your backpack and carry a garbage bag for a day

2. Encourage your peers to join you and raise awareness for children and youth in care

3. Receive community service hours

When you Stand Up for Kids by joining the Garbage Bag Challenge, you will make a powerful symbolic statement of support for peers in care and raise money and awareness so they can build a brighter future.
